Joblink Solutions CIC has worked closely with not only private professional training practitioners but also Social Enterprise initiatives to create fun, interactive, compelling and relevant workshops and courses for young people. These classes are all aimed at improving a young person's confidence, self belief, and skill sets to prepare them for a productive and positive future in work, self employment or any aspect of Enterprise.

  • The Model Experience

    As well as delivering individual workshops such as ‘What to wear?’,‘Dress on a budget’,‘Self Confidence’ and ‘Greeting Techniques’,the Model Experience are now offering a 5 week workshop!‘Fashion, Photography, Modelling…The Opportunities within the Industry’

    The sessions will cover all the aspects below inter-mixed weekly, so a broad understanding is gained of fashion, photography, hair and make-up, fashion shows and modelling.

    The picture game- Guess the most successful model!

    The Photo Shoot
    Who and what makes a photo shoot?
    Photography, lighting and mood workshops
    All the aspects of a photo shoot and the importance of teamwork – Including what makes a good commercial, tv programme, fashion show, promotional job

    The Fashion Show….Walk correctly on the red carpet! Learn the importance of 1st impressions and confidence

    The right style for the right time
    Make up for photo shoot
    Hair and make up for work and interviews

    The Model Project – The ongoing project that will run through all weeks
    The students have to design a photo shoot from start to finish providing clothing and accessories, as well as their own ideas on make-up, lighting, the feel of the shoot, the target market, and basic planning ideas of an advertising campaign. Working in groups taking on various roles to achieve the photo shoot.

    At the end of the final week, the shoot will take place and the students can appear as the model…All students will have the chance to be photographed and keep photos as a memento of the project.

    The Model project can also include the design of a fashion show…music, theme, choreography..

    We intend to cover all aspects over the weeks a number of times so the students get a full understanding of the many different aspects within the fashion world, working towards the final ‘Model Project’. Depending on the students desires we can concentrate on certain areas, or take some aspects out as requested, and we see the flexibility being adaptable to both adults and students.

  • Creative Film and Photography

    A series of workshops for young people introducing them to the world of Film and Photography allowing them to express their own creativity through producing Video documentaries and Photographic Albums.

  • Secretly Mediocre to Secret Millionaire

    Carl Hopkins offers his own journey from average kid from a council estate to Channel Fours Secret Millionaire as an inspiration 1 hour presentation for young people. Serves as a great session to kick start any Enterprise programme.

  • Be your own Brand

    Delivered by Channel 4’s Secret millionaire, Carl Hopkins gets young people to understand how thinking of themselves as a personal Brand can improve their chances to succeed in their futures. A fun, informative, interactive and aspirational workshop.

  • Exam success

    This training ensures that you are equipped for the toughest of revision and exam conditions.
    Learn how to remember multiple sets of information quickly and easily.
    Take away 3 techniques that will allow you to revise confidently and remain cool in exam conditions.
    Discover an exam success formula and leave this training with a set of tools that will enable you to perform to your highest standard.

    Half Day Workshop

  • Confidence building

    This training focuses on techniques that build confidence quickly to ensure that even the most challenging meetings. You’ll learn how to conquer your nerves, manage your own expectations and build your confidence levels and how to create a plan to ensure you meet your job goals.

  • CV building

    This course focuses on developing a fantastic CV that will give you the edge in your search for employment. After completion of this course you’ll have the knowledge and tools to transform all your skills and experience into a powerful CV that will get you in front of employers.

  • Rapport

    Connecting with people is a key skill. Communicating with those people on their level is how you create opportunities. This unique training develops your relationship building skills by showing you how you can get in rapport with people quickly and easily. You’ll leave with a set of tools that will connect you with anyone at anytime.

  • Job search

    Searching for work can be challenging, no doubt about it. This training shares with you THE plan that will maximise your opportunities to get work. We show you how to use all resources available to you to get you your new position quickly and easily.

  • Entering the World of Work

    A series of workshops for young people, introducing them to the world of work and how to interview successfully. During these half day sessions they will understand how to identify and present their skills and capabilities, where to find suitable jobs and how to perform well at job interview.

    Maximum numbers 20 students per session.
    Up to 3 x half day workshops.

  • The Boys Group (Keep Cool Tools)

    A group designed to equip young people with information about positive role models, anger management, drugs and alcohol, relationships and sexual health, and anti-social behaviour. The course is run in a fun and interactive way, where boys get involved in their learning. Courses are written in line with the ‘Every child matters’ criteria and can be adapted to fit the needs of your young people.

  • The Girls Group (Girls Aware)

    A group designed to inform young people about making the right life choices by educating them about issues such as healthy eating and body image, self-esteem, relationships and sexual health, drugs and alcohol, and internet use and staying safe. Girls are involved in interactive activities that promote their learning. Courses are written in line with the ‘Every Child Matters’ criteria and can be adapted to fit the needs of your young people.

    5 × 2 hours

  • Healthy Happy Teens

    A course that focuses on the health of young people both emotionally and physically. We consider the issues that young people face, and offer advice on how to stay healthy around body-image, self-esteem, sexual health, drugs/alcohol awareness. All of our information sessions are interactive and educational. The two facilitators underpin this knowledge with professional qualifications and course certificates in ‘Self-Esteem’ and ‘Sexual health training’.
    We advise young people on modern day fitness regimes including the use of Nintendo Wii’s, as well as how to plan and access local sports facilities. (We supply information of how young people from families that are unable to fund such activities can access funding via local funds/grants.) The final section of the course is educating young people on healthy eating and nutritional needs relevant to their age range, again this involves activity based learning. The aim of this course is that young people will leave the day having learnt a variety of useful information, and techniques that are relevant and achievable for them to put into practice.

  • Seven Easy Steps to Healthy Eating

    Seven Easy Steps to Healthy Eating is an interactive learning experience exploring what constitutes healthy eating. The workshop combines a slide show and “The Shopping Basket” containing real food to help the audience understand and remember the principles of healthy eating. During the activity the young people will be introduced to familiar foods and also some foods they might not be aware of, sourced from a variety of places including supermarkets, markets and vegetable box schemes. This will encourage young people to look at what they eat and the nutritional value. The presentation will also challenge the children to think about their bodies, why our bodies need to eat healthily and which foods can help their bodies.

  • What's it all about? - Alcohol

    The “What’s it all about? Alcohol” workshop aims to tackle the problem of young people and their use of alcohol, and aims to be part of the cure by informing them of the reality of alcohol abuse and providing them with the information needed to change their attitude to alcohol. The workshop will use a range of activities to engage the young people fully, including group discussions, games, and forum theatre. All activities have been designed to be a fun, engaging way of looking at a serious issue for young people today. The activities have been designed to encourage the young people to come up with the solutions rather than having them dictated to them.

  • "The Shimmy Zone" (a girls only introduction to belly dance)

    An introduction to the basic building blocks of this art form bringing them together to enable the students to perform a piece of choreography at the end of the session. During the workshop they will become aware of the benefits of improved mobility, balance, co-ordination, posture and flexibility. Other benefits witnessed have been a boost in confidence, self-esteem/sense of wellbeing, improvement in social interaction and often leads to new friendships.Belly Dance provides a fun, sociable and safe form of exercise for women of all ages and is proven to help with recovery from many physical and psychological conditions.
    Maximum of 20 attendees.

  • What’s it all about? -Drugs

    The main aim of the workshop is to challenge the young people’s attitudes towards drugs and to think about the consequences of their actions -understanding that behaviour they see as ‘okay’ and everyday may have a range of impacts on their own and others lives.The workshop will look at the effect of drugs on our bodies, impact on mental state and impact on relationships within peer groups and with the community as a whole.

  • Walking On Ice

    The Walking on Ice presentation follows Andrew Cooney’s world record breaking expedition to walk to the Geographical South Pole. Starting with his early struggles at school and his determination to succeed despite having Dyslexia, and how he overcame obstacles in his life which ultimately drove his desire to undertake an expedition in Antarctica.

    Andrew brings the story to life using a multimedia slide show and actual equipment used on the expedition (see note), the young people learn the challenges faced by Andrew along the way preparing for 2 months in Antarctica and the challenges of the expedition: walking 730 miles in 53 days in temperatures below -30ºc, dragging his own body weight in food and equipment.

    The presentation shows that anyone with a dream can achieve if they commit to it and don’t give up. It is not about walking to the South Pole, it is about encouraging young people to set their own goals in life and try to achieve them. After the presentation Andrew will run a question and answer session and, if appropriate, workshops using the equipment.

    Andrew’s presentation brings all the energy and dedication that took him to the South Pole as he describes his experiences so graphically they are brought alive for the audience. He has a genuine ability to motivate and awaken aspirations that lie dormant in us all.

  • Style Factory

    The Style Factory fashion programme is designed to give students a unique insight into the fashion industry and to introduce them to the career possibilities available to them within the industry.

    Workshops are led by fashion industry experts including fashion designers, illustrators, merchandisers and journalists who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience gained from years of working in the industry.
    Each expert delivers workshops based on their specialist area as well as being on hand to advise the students throughout every course.

    Style Factory is sponsored by Janome sewing machines meaning students will be using brand new sewing machines, overlockers and embellishers. A wide range of quality Derwent drawing media are used by students on the programme.

  • Music Factory

    Music Factory is designed to bring out the hit single that’s inside us all. Through workshops led by musicians, rappers, producers and song writers, participants will learn how to show off their musical talents. From recording tracks to live performance and even promotion – we cover area of this fantastic industry.
    It’s a brilliant way to celebrate the diversity in your school or community. Plus participants will also get the chance to appear in the annual Music Factory Showcase.

    The key benefits Music Factory will bring to students are:

    1.5hour Masterclass for up to 25 students. An in-depth look at a specific area of the music industry. Led by a music industry professional who specialises in the subject.
    Subjects inc: Song writing, Introduction to Urban Arts, DJ-ing and Music Promotion.

    Music Project: 6×1.5hr sessions for up to 25 students. Designed to introduce new practical skills and give hands-on experience of the music industry by working on a specific project.
    Projects include: Putting on a live performance, Produce a Music Track and Introduction to Computer Production.

    Music Club: 1.5hr workshop session for up to 25 students. Designed to allow students to be creative and work on their own projects whilst being guided by music professionals.
    Students will work towards devising and producing their own music event, record or live performance for the rest of the school to enjoy. Works well as an afternoon/lunchtime club.

    Music Factory can also manage your school/community music event or talent show and tailor courses around your specific needs.

  • Media Factory

    Media Factory opens up the exciting worlds of TV, Journalism and Radio and reveals what really goes on behind the scenes.
    Workshops are led by young professionals who work in all areas of the industry and provide fantastic inspiration to anyone thinking of a creative career.

    The key benefits Media Factory will bring to students are:

    • Raised self esteem through creativity and the celebration of individuality

    Media Project: 6× 1.5hr sessions for up to 25 students. Designed to introduce new practical skills and give a hands on experience of media by working on a specific project.
    Projects include: Create Your Own Radio Show, Make a School Magazine, Film a TV Documentary

    Media Club: 1.5hr workshop for up to 25 students. Designed to allow students to be creative and work on their own projects whilst being guided by media professionals. Students will work towards devising and producing their own magazine, radio show or blog for the rest of the school o enjoy. Works well as an afternoon/lunchtime club.
