Melanie Beavan
Recruitment entrepreneur
A German entrepreneur who relocated to England in 2004, Melanie has extensive experience of the recruitment industry in both countries having launched one of Germany's market-leading job portal software providers and having run her own recruitment consultancy in the UK for the past three years.
Mel originally began her career in the German prison service before studying at the FernUni Hagen and later diverting to the recruitment industry after a period of temping when she noticed a distinct gap in the market for the efficient placement of jobseekers.
In 2002 Melanie undertook extensive leadership training in the area of formal Personal Development. At the same time she qualified as a Psychological Counsellor.
Melanie relocated to Halifax, West Yorkshire, in 2004 to pursue her career in recruitment. She achieved her certificate of Personnel Practice (CIPD) and set up her own consultancy, MB Careers, to place engineers in UK-wide and international positions.
